Morgan Deters
Chair
Morgan Deters has been serving as Chair of the Board of Directors since 2019 and has been a member since 2017. She graduated from Lewis & Clark College in 2013 with a degree in Economics and International Relations where she was President of the Model United Nations club. Morgan served as the Secretary-General of NWMUN-Seattle 2016. She currently works as a Data Analyst in Portland, OR and spends her spare time baking gluten-free bread.
Adam de la Cruz
Secretary
Adam de la Cruz has served on the board since 2009. Adam received his BA from the University of Washington in 2009, where he was the President of the Model United Nations club, and his MA in Applied Linguistics from King’s College London in 2016. Adam currently works as an English for Academic Purposes Lecturer at Beijing-Dublin College in Beijing, China, where he helps prepare Chinese students to study abroad in English speaking countries. He currently does research on English as a Lingua Franca and Intercultural issues within English educational settings.
Stephen Rimbakusumo
Treasurer
Stephen Rimbakusumo has served on the board since 2024. Stephen graduated with a B.A. in History from the University of Washington. Stephen has been part of staff of over 30 Model United Nations conferences from all around the country, notably serving as the Secretary-General for NWMUN-Seattle 2018 and 2019.
Since 2016, Stephen has worked as a Software Development Engineer for Amazon.com, Inc. Stephen specializes in architecting cloud solutions to facilitate incident management. Stephen also is a volunteer incident commander, driving resolution to incidents to ensure customers can resume shopping. Outside of work, Stephen is an avid gamer, pilot-in-training, and photographer.

Aaron Thao
Member
Aaron has been serving on the Board since January 2024. He received his BA in International Relations from California State University, Chico, and his MS in Organizational Leadership from Johns Hopkins University. At Chico State, he was the Head Delegate for the Model United Nations team from 2015 -2016. He has been involved with the NorthWest Model United Nation (NWMUN) conferences since 2013 as a delegate, volunteer substantive staff, and executive secretariat (was Chief of Staff for NWMUN-Portland 2020). He has nearly a decade of professional experience in business operations and human resources ranging in multiple industries from healthcare, eCommerce, higher education, and nonprofits.
Aaron is Hmong, first generation born American, and his parents were refugees from the Vietnam War. Aaron is currently a people consultant working for a global professional services firm and is based out in Seattle, WA. He specializes in change management, leadership and team development, and program and project management.
